Hope for Germany in the euro of women 2025
Germany has won the UEFA Women’s Euro at no less than eight opportunities. Much more often than other countries.
The problem is that the last titles came in 2013. There were many question marks about the team in the 2025 edition of the tournament.
2-0 victory over Poland did not discuss much of that concern. In fact, it might have added a few. With an injury to the Gulia Gwinn team captain, now there is also a question about the team’s team hierarchy.
Star Bayern Munich Women has suffered many ACLs who are torn in his young career, and in the Polish match, he suffered another knee injury. The results of MRI revealed the dislocated MCL, which would make him come out for several weeks.
The question is still how Germany will handle the absence of their captain, how long or hopefully short.
The team has the aim to go as far as possible in this tournament, a few months before it starts. Then, they changed it to really want to win the title at Switzerland.
There is no doubt that Germany has a good team, but for more than a decade now, they have to deal with the fact that some national teams on the European continent and indeed outside are not only pursuing them but frankly also surpass them.
Germany’s main challenge
The team has lost a lot of players because of international retirement is also recently. The biggest thing that comes to mind is Alexandra Popp, who is a former team captain and leader who does not need to be questioned.
Popp led Germany to the last euro final in England, where they narrowly fell to the host in extra time at the crowded Wembley Stadium.
The purpose of Wolfsburg women’s legend will be very difficult to replace, but Lea Schüller is specifically expected to step into the task. The last goal against Poland is a good start to do that.
Players Semuda Jule Brand (22) must also take the leadership role in this German team. The new Olympique Lyon signing must meet his potential, which he has signaled several times.
The first half of their tournament opening against Poland was a goalless disappointment. Apart from victory and improvement after rest, Germany did not meet expectations.

What is expected of the next two group matches
With Denmark and Sweden, there are two far more difficult battles that appear in the group stage, than what happened to Poland, without wanting to respect the slightest side of Ewa Pajor.
Germany faces the next Denmark on Tuesday, before renewing their Swedish competition next Saturday.
Denmark achieved a historic victory in the quarter -finals of the 2017 Euro Wanita, sending Germany packing earlier for the first time the millennium at the European championship.
Meanwhile, Sweden historically is the biggest contemporary rival for Germany, after playing it in various major tournaments for many years. Sweden is a true giant of women’s games, although it usually fails to give at the end of a large championship.
Seeing these two remaining group matches, it will be stupid to have planned forward to the knockout stage. We will follow with great interest, what the team can achieve for the rest of the tournament.
