Positive News For Serge Gnabry When Sacha Boey Is Loaned
As we reported a few weeks ago, Bayern Munich has several players whose contracts will expire, either this summer or soon after.
In those three cases (two of which will expire this year), we now have clarity as we can bring you a Bayern Munich contract renewal.
Bayern Munich Contract Update: Serge Gnabry Extends His Stay at Bayern Until 2028
The first and most positive story in Bayern Munich’s contract renewal is that Gnabry has signed a two-year contract extension with the Bavarians.
The versatile forward, who has been with the club since 2018, has won six Bundesliga titles, a UEFA Champions League trophy and a FIFA Club World Cup, among other honours.
He knows about the club and has internalized what is known in Germany as the “Bayern gene”.
The “Bayern gene” is the desire to win every game and every trophy the Bavarian team competes for. No matter whether it is a Champions League final against a continental giant or a friendly against a local amateur team, Bayern is always driven to win.
From his years in Munich, he knows what it takes to be successful, and it makes sense for all parties involved to face the future together.
Although it must be said that Gnabry was not always the first choice, even when Jamal Musiala was injured, he always put his faith in him when Bayern boss Vincent Kompany put his trust in him and was a positive player in Bayern Munich’s contract renewal.
Sacha Boey Loaned to Galatasaray With Buy Option
Other news regarding Bayern Munich’s contract update was also announced by the club on Thursday, February 5, namely that Boey will be loaned back to his former team, Galatasaray, for the remainder of this season.
He does have a contract with Bayern until the summer of 2028, but he has been surplus to requirements under Kompany, as the Frenchman has been a last-choice right-back for most of his time in the Bavarian capital.
When he arrives from Türkiye in January 2024, there are very serious problems with defensive depth, so he is a welcome reinforcement at that point.
However, since then, he has made just 38 appearances, winning one Bundesliga title and one German Super Cup in two years with the Bavarians.
Boey can still take this step because the winter transfer market in Türkiye is still open, while the Bundesliga has been closed since Monday, February 2.

Leon Goretzka remains with Bayern for this season
Despite having a contract with the Bavarian side that he has long known would not be renewed, and despite several Spanish clubs being interested in signing him in January, Goretzka has decided to stay at Bayern for the remainder of the season and the remainder of his contract.
With the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović and eventually also Tom Bischof ahead of him in the Bavarian midfield hierarchy, it would not make sense to extend Goretzka’s contract.
However, keeping him for the rest of his contract is also a good option. This particular piece of news in Bayern Munich’s contract renewal is a little older than the others, but it’s still important to include.
Additionally, there were also several reports earlier this week stating that the Dayot Upamecano extension saga has reached a positive conclusion and the French centre-back will soon sign a new contract.
The club has not confirmed this at the time of writing this Bayern Munich contract update.
