Purpose and Hope for the Club World Cup

Seattle Sounders headed to the club World Cup this weekend with a steep battle in front of him. They looked at the death group with a few opportunities to advance through the group stage and to the knockout round.

The Seattle group can be easily defined as a group of death thanks to Atletico Madrid, the powerful Europe PSG champion, and Brazilian power plant Botafogo. All three will make it a challenge for any team no matter the league or level to get out of the group stage let alone secure one victory.

The purpose of Seattle in the group stage game is to keep him close and looks like belonging to. I know that it doesn’t flatter for better fans because they prefer to have the chance to compete, unfortunately they might not happen.

The draw against one of the three teams will be treated like victory, if Seattle can package and maintain this result will be possible but is still in doubt.

Against PSG and Atletico, the aim is to make a respectable score line and create some decent opportunities. These clubs are the two best in their league which are considered part of the top five in the world.

Seattle’s purpose may seem disappointing, being in this competition gives them the opportunity to show that MLS can remain with big boys in the world.

Hope

Similar to the purpose of this squad, his hope is even more disappointing for fans of Seattle Sounder.

The hope is that Seattle will lose all three matches leave the competition without one point. Holding PSG and Atletico for the results of a single purpose will help get respect for MLS and American football as a whole.
