Ravens Olb Kyle Van Noy to lose time with a hamstring injury
The Ravens won their first match this season on Sunday, but that was the price.
Kyle Van Noy’s outside LineBacker hurts his hamstring and will lose time, the source with direct knowledge of the situation told Baltimore Sun. It is not yet clear how long the absence is.
Van Noy, 34, led Baltimore with 12 1/2 sacks last season and was appointed for his first pro bowl. The veteran suffered an injury during the second quarter of the 41-17 Ravens explosion at Cleveland at M&T Bank Stadium. He went to the dressing room shortly after that and was ruled out for the match at the beginning of the third quarter.
“It’s hard to know that he will not be out there with us, but he spoke to me, making sure I stayed at my peak,” Rookie said outside midfielder Mike Green after the match. Green, the choice of the second round of Marshall, who led college football with 17 sacks last season, saw a big increase in Snaps (45) with Van Noy out.
Van Noy has one tackle and hit Quarterback before leaving the match on Sunday. He has three tackles and there are no sacks this season.
It also marks the second year in a row that Van Noy will lose time due to a hamstring injury. Last year, he was not active for the week 12 Baltimore match against Eagles because of a hamstring and neck injury.
His absence came at the wrong time too, with four consecutive matches against 2024 Playoff teams during the following month.
The next Ravens match is next Monday night in Baltimore against Detroit Lions who are high. After that, they will play in the Head of Kansas City and then at home to Houston Texas and Los Angeles Rams before BYE on week 7.
