Tricky Trees Positive Home Away Results from UEFA Europa League Round of 16

Nottingham Forest vs Fenerbahce will be one of the most anticipated second games in the UEFA Europa League play-offs, as the Reds are 3-0 up after a fine win in the first leg in Turkey.

Following the sacking of Sean Dyche around two weeks ago, Nottingham Forest appointed former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vitor Pereira and have enjoyed a perfect start under the Portuguese.

With a dominant performance away from home in the first leg, can Nottingham Forest vs Fenerbache provide more surprises at the City Ground in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

Nottingham Forest vs Fenerbahce: The Reds’ New Manager Bouncing

To their fourth manager of the season, Nottingham Forest have given away their last hope when they sacked Sean Dyche and signed Vitor Pereira during the final months of the season, with the Reds in dire straits when it comes to fighting for Premier League relegation.

The former Wolves boss, only sacked from his post at the West Midlands club in November 2025, has been given another task to survive in the Premier League.

Wolves are in much worse trouble in the 2024/25 season when they sit 19th with nine points from 16 games.

The Portuguese coach will be busy with Forest rescue work as the Reds’ European campaign continues after a brilliant 3-0 win in Türkiye last week.

Goals from Murillo, Igor Jesus and Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest a big advantage heading into the second leg at the City Ground.

The Reds’ progress to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League should have been assured in their last league game against Braga, but an own goal from Ryan Yates ruined their chances of progressing.

Thus, the rise of a new manager has given Forest a lot of advantage in the first leg, while being in a hostile environment like the one in Istanbul.

All Forest needs to do now is keep the scoreline in their favor by winning, drawing or losing by the slimmest of margins to progress to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League.

Coming in second place in the Turkish Superliga, Fenerbahce have had to make do with the less prestigious UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League in recent seasons; However, Domenico Tedesco’s team is still able to compete well.

In the league phase of the UEFA Europa League, they finished in 19th place after three wins, three draws and two defeats.

However, they have been buoyed by impressive league form, which has left them three points behind rivals Galatasaray and kept them unbeaten in 22 league games so far.

First, Aston Villa tarnished that record with a narrow 1-0 win in the UEFA Europa League league stage, and then Forest dismantled them 3-0 last week.
