Villa Park will develop to 50,000+ with a development plan of £ 100 million
April 24 – Aston Villa has announced plans to rebuild the North Villa Park booth, increasing the stadium’s capacity to more than 50,000 when they joined the list of Premier League clubs that continued to expand the stadium.
At present, criminals, who enjoy their most successful season in decades, can host 42,918 fans, but demand to see the team of high flying Unai Emery consistently exceeding the available tickets.
The club will expand the capacity of the North stand of around 7,500 seats, at a cost of around £ 100 million.
Along with the rebuilding of the northern stand, the other three stands attaching the land will receive an increase. What is important, the current capacity will not be affected during the renovation of two years, allowing the club to maintain full presence during the construction period.
The original plan has called for destroying the northern stand, but it will reduce the capacity to temporarily to 36,000, which has the potential to decrease the legendary atmosphere of Villa Park which is very important for the shape of the team’s home. Conversely, the club chose a gradual approach that maintains the existing capacity during the construction.
“Aston Villa fans have shocked Villa Park for several generations, collecting the atmosphere with unmatched intensity in every home match for more than 125 years,” said Chris Heck, President of the Villa Business Operations, said.
“Thanks to the hard work and collaboration of the extraordinary team, we will now be able to offer this extraordinary experience to thousands, all while meeting the main challenges of carrying out this project without sacrificing the capacity of the match day during the process.”
Because executive chairman Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens took the club control in 2018, inves more than £ 400 million in the transfer, along with the appointment of Astute Unai Emery as manager in October 2022, Aston Villa has experienced an extraordinary resurrection.
Running the club to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals this season has been equipped with an appearance in the FA Cup semifinals and a strong challenge for finishing the top four League which will guarantee Champions League football for the second season in a row.
Expansion of Villa Park followed a similar project by the Premier League rivals, including the Manchester City Etihad Stadium (increased to 60,000), Liverpool’s Anfield (61,000), and the new Stadium of Tottenham Hotspur (62,850), when the club tried to increase match revenue when fulfilling demand from supporters.
