Blue Jays Sweep Yankees to lead Al East

Toronto (AP) -George Springer scored two home runs twice and Toronto Blue Jays defeated New York Yankees 8-5 on Thursday night to finish sweeping four matches and taking the only Al East Lead possession.

Addison Barger has a homer solo among three of his blows for Toronto.

Slugger New York Aaron Hakim took the intentional road in the eighth, matching the Mickey Mantle team record in 1957.

Yankees Clarke Schmidt’s right hand left after three inning due to tightness in his arm. Schmidt allowed three times and four hit.

Jasson Domínguez got four hit for New York, but Yankees was swept away for the second time. They lost all three in Boston between June 13 and 15.

New York 10-16 against Al East.

Chris Bassitt (8-4) scored nine in 5 2/3 inning, increasing to 4-0 in five careers of the cage begins against Yankees. Jeff Hoffman was finished to save its 121 in 25 opportunities.
