Dortmund sounded a change in a shirt sponsor with Vodafone approved an agreement of 5 years

May 28-Borussia Dortmund has announced changes in big sponsors, replacing the old Evonic front partner with Vodafone Germany for the 2025/26 season.

The Vodafone agreement has only been running for a minimum of five years, while Evonic will continue their relationship with the club as a champion partner after almost two decades with the famous yellow jersey. No value is given for the vodafone agreement.

Both sides position this more than just a traditional sponsor. Marcel de Groot, CEO of Vodafone Germany, described the collaboration as representing “joint ambitions for excellence.”

“This partnership is not just a sponsor – this is a statement for the growth and unification of two internationally recognized brands. We are proud to be part of the BVB family,” De Groot said.

BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke highlighted the importance of securing a major commercial agreement in a challenging economic period: “That we can bring such prestigious partners on ships during financial difficult times to bring us great satisfaction.”

Evonic partnership has been proven to be very successful for both parties. Special chemical companies are relatively unknown outside Germany before the sponsor begins, but since then getting significant international recognition.

“In the world of football today, 20 years is an extraordinary time for sponsors,” said Norbert Ness, Head of Strategic Communication in Evonic. “We want a positive experience that we have gained from this partnership to continue to contribute to Evonic commercial success.”

BVB Director Carsten Cramer praised the ability to adapt from the relationship: “This partnership is a blueprint for successful sponsors in sports. The fact that he continues despite the economic challenges showing the strength of our cooperation.”

This arrangement shows how long the long -term sponsors can develop, and grow rather than ends, while Vodafone entries strengthen the sustainable position of football as a premium marketing platform.
