Carlos Alcaraz and Ribs Swiatek started well at the France Open
PARIS-IGA SWIATEK, who has been fighting lately, and Carlos Alcaraz, who has not yet started a good start in their French Open degree on Monday, recorded a direct victory to reach the second half.
Swiatek was in the first court in the Philippe-Chatrier court and defeated Rebecca Sramkova 6-3, 6-3. Swiatek arranged 25 winners and 17 mistakes that were not forced in a 1 hour contest, 24 minutes.
Alcaraz only took about half an hour more than that for a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Giulio Zeppiri, Italian qualifications which were ranked 310. Alcaraz won all 14 service matches, saving three rest points he faced, in the Suzanne-lenglen court.
“It’s really solid,” Alcaraz said. “Very proud of my beginning.”
Both Swiatek and Alcaraz sat in the chatrier established the day before to witness the farewell award to the 14th champion Rafael Nadal-and the two players were actively wearing rust t-shirts that read “Merca Rafa” which was distributed to the audience. Swiatek often talks about his admiration for Nadal; Alcaraz is considered the heir of Grand Slam 22 times clearly.
“To be sure, there are tears,” said Swiatek, who faced the next 2021 US champion Emma Raducanu. “It was an extraordinary ceremony, and I was happy that Roland Garros did this for Rafa. I am happy that the whole world of tennis has the opportunity to gather and only thank him. … he is a goat, so I am happy that I was there.”
Alcaraz is seeded No. 2 Behind Jannik Sinner-who advanced Monday night with a victory of 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 more than Arthur Rinderknech who ranked 75-and came from the degree of clay field in the Italian Open a little more than a week ago. Alcaraz defeated Sinner in the final there.
The results of Monday gave Alcaraz 28 wins in the last 30 matches at Red Clay, including going 7 for 7 years ago in Roland-Garros. One of the losses occurred against Novak Djokovic in a gold medal match at the Paris Olympics last year, which was held on the same site as the France Open.
Swiatek has declined to rank 5 in rank, the first time from the top two places in about three years. He has not yet reached the final in any tournament since collecting a third championship in a row – and fourth in five years – in Paris in 2024.
The 23-year-old player from Poland extended the unbeaten Open French Open to 22 matches and tried to be the first woman with four consecutive trophies in the tournament in a professional era, which began in 1968. Monica finished and Justine Henin also won three consecutive titles in Roland-Garros.

Navarro was removed 6-0, 6-1 in only 57 minutes by Jessica Bouzas Maneiro from Spain. Bouzas Maneiro’s biggest victory in his career also came in the first round in the Grand Slam tournament: He defeated the champion ordered Marketa Vondrusova in the first round of Wimbledon last year.
Also on the way out Monday: Naomi Osaka’s four -time champion, who cried after the defeat of three sets from No. 10 Paula Badosa.
